what dealership said that they can get you a remote? I would really like to get their phone # so I can get myself 2 remotes. All the dealerships I called (4 in all in the ny metro area) had either said they could get them for me, or they said that they needed a part #.Not one came through for me. It seems to me that its just not worth their time..One parts department even went as far as to say to me "I never heard of a remote for that car"...Oh come on man, I was'nt born yesterday! ....... Anyways, if you can let me know the phone # I will give them a call......thx

i finally figured out how to program/add my new remote to my 01 vx. here's the steps i did.
    1. TURN THE IGNITION KEY ALL THE WAY TO ON (VERY IMPORTANT)
    2. depress and hold green button in the bottom of the alarm box
3.press the arm/disarm/panic button on the remote your trying to program while still holding down green button
    4. and your done.
it's very easy once you know how to do it.

    Ronin, you are a star!

I have been having trouble with this even with advice from the forum. The "key" is the key in the start position.

If it chirps once, you are all set. Twice and it disabled my original fob.

    Keyfob Programming

    Two questions regarding the above:

The first (and a stupid one probably) is where is the alarm box with the green button? - I have not looked yet, but am not sure where to look.

The second, if I program my 2nd keyfob using the above method will my first keyfob stop working? This would defeat the purpose for me as I want one for my wife.

    Thanks Guys!

My 2nd keyfob came today and I used procedures scattered throughout the forum to program it. In the interest of making it easier on the next guy/gal I posted the complete instructons in the howto section.
