I see you've been registered since '02, but this is only your 2nd post, so I'm assuming you have not read much here.
There's literally a ton of info on this very specific topic.
Here's some of the threads on oil consumption, engine failure, spun rods, engine tapping noise, polls, experience, etc....
Believe me, it's worth your time to read them all.....
Using the search function will reveal even more info....

Remember that life is not measured in the breaths you take, but rather in the moments that take your breath away.
Is Ldub on vactation? (I know Sue, why ain't I in the workshop)
Mine has a tick too. Not on-common with Hyd lifter's and no, I haven't run it out of oil.
I converted to Mobil 1 first thing when my Dragon arrived with 27k miles.
Did some reading on the Amsoil web page and they suggest (and sell) a 'cleaner' to add to your crankcase before switching to their oil. I wonder if this might be a good thing for us to consider doing every 75k or so to clean out the sticky lifters and what have you even if we're not switching to their oil.
Throwing it out there to see what the group thinks. For sure there are smarter engine people in the group then me. To me it sounds good, makes sense, but is it nothing more then old fashion snakeoil?
Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace... Never mind "Paris to Dakar", the VehiCROSS looks ready for the Martian desert.
About every third oil change, I run seafoam in my crankcase for about 100 miles or so before the change. It is a cleaner also.
THere's a fair amount of folks on here that use the Seafoam. I did that shortly after first oil change at 65k, then I used Amsoil's "Engine Flush" in black bottle about 4 -5,000 miles later and switched to Amsoil oil at the same time. I had no problems before, have none now...so for me I can't tell any difference....but figured it couldn't hurt.
