The VX has the best turning circle of any vehicle i've owned, so loosing a few degrees wouldn't hurt if you need too.
Just for your information, my Isuzu is running an 8" wheel with a zero offset and 265 75 16 tyres. The tyre edge sits pretty much inline with the wheel arch (fender)
The other thing to add is that with my set up and i presume others that haven't increased their off set out beyond the arches is that i get full travel of the suspension using the OEM bump stops, my wheels dont rub at all.
