Lions & Tigers & Bears, Oh My!

Yesterday we finally went to visit the wildlife animal park just 15 miles away,
called Out of Africa. Temp was about 69 which was perfect and we had a fantastic time! Had a tram and then a Unimog tour so I actually got to see everything in the park while being toted around.
Just sharing some pics that make me smile.....

If you ever wondered why I go by Kat.....

The musuem is world renowned. And they do have cats...lynx, mountain lions etc. They were one of the first to transform their cages into natual habitats...some use wire so thin you can't even see it. Definately one of the best Tucson attractions. Let me know when you will be down so we can get together. Also if you have any questions about stuff in the area let me know.

Man, I never get tired of lookin' at big cats! One thing I realized after looking at my pics for a while was how the lions weren't all scarred up on their faces/bodies, like they do in the wild. They've never been in wild situations where fighting is required. Made them even more beautiful! (Nor did they have 10,000 flies and bugs all over them...gotta love AZ!).

Most of these animals were rescues from either private owners (dumb!!) or parks that went belly up. They had a white rhino from a closed hunt place () in Texas that some rich guy paid double value to get him out of there, then donated him to this group.

    That's cool, Kat.

Jeez, aren't white rhinos like critically endangered?
