    Steering Wheel...

Ok, I've searched using every criteria & combination I can think of, also goog'd all over the net trying to find any kind of steering wheel hub/adapter that'll allow me to install a sparco or momo steering wheel.

I don't care about losing the airbag, lived to almost fiddy without one, so more than willing to gamble on skill & luck...

I've seen aftermarket steering wheels on racing team VX's, so I know it can be done.

Outside of fabricating my own, anyone got ant ideas?

    Thanx in advance...

I don't know if you like them larry, but you can peep into momousa.com for some models that may fit what you are looking for.

As a matter of fact i was on facebook yesterday evening chatting with one of the members living in puerto rico who is looking to get a momo in his VX.
    Dakar was just the begining.

Take a look. This is a pic from VX-157's gallery, the JDM wheel is 3-spoke, has the Momo logo embossed on the bottom spoke, as well as the nifty gray "starburst" center (obviously the wheel is black, he just has a red cover over it). What's interesting is that the vast majority of JDM wheels seem to have the Isuzu logo in gray, but on some models (LTD175 maybe?) it's in red.

OK...after some more digging around, I've found some adapters that look like they should work.

Also a few wheels that I'm interested in...

    Thanx Jack

The "Momo clone" (read: about 1/4 the price) in the top pic is edging out the others at the moment...

Of course there's a downside to this endeavor...

Losing the airbag doesn't bother me as much as the fact that I might be tempted (or stupid enough) to replace the six cap screws with spikes...

I'm also thinking one these things might be nice, but only if theres not enough dish to whatever I decide on, & it feels too far away.

momo made the JDM VX steering wheel. i cant imagine they made that wheel for only those VXs.. prob a standard design, maybe someone across the pond can chime in about any adapter or anything theirs uses?

Sorry Bro, for whatever reason (like putting her all back to stock if I ever decide to sell) I rarely part with replaced parts, I still have my stock rear springs...

I partially agree with you Eric, but on the other side of that coin, they did contract with Yakima for a "one off" roof rack...

There is definitely a steering hub for the trooper, can't imagine its different. Just pop the air bag off and count the splines on the steering shaft and find a match!!!

By the way you can splice the horn wire before the clock spring so that you don't need a steering wheel with a horn button. Just re-mount it else where, its a simple earth switch.
