Las Vegas Gathering

A casual conversation between a few VX members has become a plan to hook up and enjoy a Vegas weekend. Details will form slowly. Many of us will not be bringing our VX's as we don't envision it as a VX meet. More vacationing, hanging with friends, meals, cocktails, gambling, and be free to do-what-you-want time. Loose and fun.

At this point, the following people have made their reservations/travel plans, with a few maybe's. So far, the yes's are staying at the Mirage where we got a decent rate.

So what's a decent rate at the Mirage, and anyone planning on bringing the VX?

Hotel rates in Vegas are as fluid as the cocktails we drink on friday nights. At one time the Mirage was $104 a night, but for the time being they have jumped to $144. Hotels.com show pretty good deals at other hotels on the strip.

So what's a decent rate at the Mirage, and anyone planning on bringing the VX?

A few weeks ago I found Mirage's own website had the best price....$108 for "Deluxe room" (NOT premium strip view, that was $124).

We're not driving the VX, more social event pretty much.

I am booked! I get there at like 4pm on friday I think and leave hotel about 11am sunday! Quick trip, but will be nice catching up with everyone!

Only been working the new gig for about 90 days & they've expressed an interest in bumping me up the food chain soon after the first of the year.

I made sure to negotiate time off for Moab in May, so I hope to see all Y'all then...

I had to wait to respond on this 'til I knew what the heck was going on. It was a maybe until:
I received 2 subpoenas for January on a couple of the Homicides that I worked from the beginning of 2010.
I used what extra time I had gathered to attend my grandmother's funeral in Phoenix so, if I use any more I'll be tapping into my Moab reserve.

I wanna go so bad but, the "gods" are against me.. I better take the hint before something really bad happens.

Dave and I are planning a nice dinner at Bally's Steakhouse one of the eves. We don't really gamble so we drop our wad on a nice dinner. Been to this place twice before... steak, King crab legs...YUM!
