Well, the trooper, although the same wheel base, is MUCH bigger
VX-67" tall, RS-73" tall this makes HUGE difference when you are inside
RS has 2 feet less turning radius(probably due to the fact it has a 4" narrower front axle width)
curb weight-within a hundred pounds of each other
RS-4.55 gears
VX-4.33
The VX is a little wider (wide stance upgrade in 95 and later troopers)
Trooper has almost 800lbs more payload capacity. This is probably due to the heavier springs in the RS vs the VX.
Trunk cargo area (seats in sitting position)
VX-13.9cu feet
RS-30.5 cu feet
This is ironic, the VX has very spacious rear seating, but no way to get back there, the RS has mediocre rear seating, but the front seat is compound folding on the passenger side, meaning it moves twice to slide forward, once along the length of the track, and then another three inches or so on the pivot for the actual seat, bringing it up and forward, very easy to get back there.
The RS also has a nice "oh ****" handle built into the center console.
Overall, they are both nice little trail trucks. I wouldn't trade em for the world...well, maybe a D90.
