Well yesterday I switched the filter and fluid and added a bottle of Lucas tranny crap and it feels the same as it did. The filter was full of gray sludge and the magnet in the bottom of the pan looked like a gray sea aneomie with metal spikes. There was a ton of gray sludge everywhere. It looked almost like maybe it had a graphite additive put in.Maybe its just the worn parts, but it was nasty.
Two of the 8 bolts holding the cross member broke off inside the holes and one spun with the bolt half in/out but is still locked into the treads. The bolts were all half way rusted through due to cross member not letting water drain from around the bolts. When I took them out water poured from the holes.
I would say to anyone who hasent done it yet, for sure for sure for sure change your filter. My advise also never listen to the auto parts guy when you know better. I should have swapped the filter months ago when I did the first fluid change.
Looks like Im gonna have to get a rebuild kit or Ill have to get a donor car with the same transmission.![]()
