    My new VX Shannon

Well, got another VX today, she matches Silvia pretty well (both Astral Silver) but had a few things that I didn't like so I didn't waste any time getting to work on it!

This is how she looked when I got her:

I didn't like the light bar in all it's chrome glory on top or the huge brush guard, so I took 2 of the lights off the top and sanded the chrome off to make them flat black and removed the brush guard. I then removed all the dumb decals on it and painted the fangs silver and painted a nice VX in the grille lol

I'll end up taking the chrome side tanks off but I have to take apart the whole RC (motor and all) and didn't want to do that today, gonna play with it for awhile. I'm gonna repaint the whole thing soon too. I'm thinking about swapping the body onto rock crawler frame like this one day:

This VX RC is actually 4wd too which is kinda cool lol

Decided to take Shannon for a little offroading today, first we hit up "Grassy Ridge", here she is doing a little climbing:

Later we met up with Silvia and Shannon decided to make Silvia her b**ch:

We also hit up "Rocky Creek" and "Cardboard Canyon" today, I have a vid from each that I'm waiting to upload. She climbed the wall at "Cardboard Canyon" pretty well!

I thought you named it after Claude Shannon ... the famous Electronics Engineer. Ya know, this forum holds us engineers in such high regard.

BTW, I'm not so geeky that I knew who Claude Shannon was. I googled shannon (looking for a smart arse response) and found the reference in wikipedia. The rest just fell into place.

He is my new hero though - maybe someday I'll have a wikipedia reference too.

Not a fair pic, I lifted it up later on:

I too got my toys today, a yellow stomper, needs lockers though, it gets stuck very easily.

Also got the VX pulling snowmobile, some scaling problems, the snowmobile is bigger that the VX!!!!

lol maybe the snowmobile is a MONSTER snow mobile? haha ya I know you lifted the bumper but that pic looked the closest lol. This one is "locked" but it's driven like a tank, the left front and left rear are tied together and same on the right side, so when you have to turn you just use one side and snap the other to do a quick turn. It actualy works REALLY well, I had it in a little hole out back earlier and it did pretty good until the battery started dying and it wouldn't turn the wheels when they got "stuck". I'll post some pics/vid of that adventure in a minute. Had to take the wheels off and get the mud afterwards. I'm thinking of getting one of these and putting the VX body on it:

That or getting one of those WalMart brand ones that people seem to have good luck with. They are "beginner" Crawlers but shoot, I'd just be using it for fun so that's ok with me. You should bring yours to Uwharrie and we can have a mini-vx trail run! Take em through Daniel!
