SICK!
I saw a documentary about that jump , sometime last year .
HOLY CRAP HOW AWESOME OF A JUMP THAT WOULD BE!!!
I went sky diving and that was a thrill, I couldn't imagine how much crap was in this guys pants by the time he got to the ground!
Still #9 should have been rated higher.
All of the jumps in the video are very impressive on their own merit.
The base jumper reminds me of the Twin Towers in NYC on 9/11, as I've often pondered what a qualified base jumper could do on that frightful day. Neatly tucked underneath their office desk would be a pre-packed base jumper parachute. Instead of running down the stairwells like everybody else, a base jumper would run up the stairs to the roof-top of the crippled skyscraper. If time was short or fire was eminent, then out the nearest side office window.
I've always wondered how many people who work in tall skyscrapers took base-jumping lessons after 9/11 and now have their secret parachute neatly hidden underneath their office desk within their cubicle???
#1 is well deserved and still holds the record and was done in 1960, but hat's off to the video clip at the beginning and #2

There are at least a few others out there who think like you...![]()
Col. Kettinger was vice wing commander when I was stationed at RAF Upper Heyford in 1970. Flying F-4's, every time he took ff he would do a max climb out which the F-4 did rather nicely back then. When ask why he always did that, his answer was 'because I am a fighter pilot'
Greetings, Earthling. We come in peace... Never mind "Paris to Dakar", the VehiCROSS looks ready for the Martian desert.
L-DUB--- Thanx for the "link". Not bad life insurance for only $795 if a person works in a skyscraper. If I did; then I'd have one, and wouldn't hesitate to use it if the circumstances dictacted it. I'm Airborne qualified by the US Army with numerous parachute jumps, so jumping out into the open air is not new to me.
ROWHARD--- Reminds me of the famous question: "Why do dogs lick themselves???" Same analogy.

I think I just threw up five times in my mouth watching that!
Travis, the MAN, was in almost half of those, wasn't he (I'm not going back to count.)![]()

That was awesome, I also think Travis's no-parachute shorts jump should have been higher and that #6 was crazy, if he slipped on that wet ledge, bye bye
