Yeah, bolting and welding would probably be the best. And yeah, its boxed in under there so you would need to drill through and use a LOOOOOONG bolt.

I think I need them, since last time I went wheeling I came very close to smashing the hell outta the side of my Trooper on a big rock that I didn't see buried in a bush. I rolled over it and the top of the rock was literally a half inch from the bottom rocker. Rocks don't give.
