ABS light could mean a number of things.. ABS hydraulic module, sensors, or both for starts. But my question would be do you really need to fix it. MANY of us have never fixed our ABS.. some have even pulled the fuse for it. IMHO, you can brake faster with more control without it.

Take your VX to an autozone and have them get the codes. This will give you the information to diagnose the check engine light and perhaps the abs.
Doesnt cost much to do.

What?! No love for the bungee cord fix?

For fifty cents your windows will jump up like they were new. And you never have to lube!

LOL! Somehow I missed that one. One would need to know where to buy a bungee cord. I need a complete, detailed write-up please.

Anita, you buy your bungee cords the same place you buy the duct tape.

This "temporary" bungee cord and duct tape fix was done right after I acquired the VX in 2004 as a way to keep the window situation from deteriorating further while I found a more permanent solution. The car had just been turned in after a 3 year lease when I bought it and the drivers window was dragging badly - and the passengers side was staring to drag too. Not counting trim removal/replacement, it took about 15 minutes for the first window because I had to experiment a bit to get the bungee length just right - then it literally took about 45 seconds to do the other one. Hook a bungee in two holes, put a piece of duct tape over each hook to keep it from dislodging when the bungee is slack, and yer done! Well... you know how temporary fixes go sometimes.... a month passed... then two... then a year... then two... and after a while I decided what the heck - I think I'll promote that fix to permanent status! It's been working just fine for over six years now with none of that yearly track lubing stuff.

Yeah yeah yeah Bob - you can make fun of my lowly bungee cord and duct tape fix all you want - but next time you have to lube your loose, kapakahi windows with their spread out tracks and butchered up rubber - you'll find yourself secretly thinking: "I sure wish I'd done the bungee.... they say once you've done the bungee you'll never go back... nobody would have to know... as long as I don't go back in the house smelling like duct tape my wife will never find out..."
