It's a super cool bike (looks like a Ducati Monster), but I still have a problem with the limited range that all electric cars have. Unfortunately this country is spread way the heck out and has been designed for and by the automobile. I have a motorcycle, and I can only get about 130 miles on a tank of gas, but I can pull into a gas station, fill up, and be on my way again for another 130 miles in about ten minutes. If you where to do that with any electric vehicle, you'd be stuck where ever you where when it ran out of juice for, probably, a few hours while it recharged.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for saving the planet, and we DO need to investigate alternative energy sources, but for now full on electric vehicles are limited to just local commuting so you can re-charge at home every night. And speaking of which, plugging your electric vehicle into an outlet that get's it's electricity from a coal fired electrical plant really doesn't help out much. On top of all that the inherent energy it takes to produce the vehicle in the first place is massive as well as the fact that the battery is toxic once it's reached the end of it's useful life span.
Sorry, sorry...I'll get off my soap box now.....
With all of that said I STILL wouldn't give up my 16-18 mpg VX right now.
It IS a cool bike and a great step in the right direction.
"The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong, it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair."
