it's really not that hard to replace the rear speakers. it took me about a half hour or so to get the old ones out and the new ones in.

Are you replacing the front or rears? The rears are only a pain since you need to take out the rear panels...getting them back in sucks royally!
If the fronts...you always have the option of surface mounting the tweeters. You can even mount them over the factory location.
