Tortie (my red ear) gets a new home!

My red ear was quickly out-growing his old home. He has tripled+ in size since I got him. Here he is in his old home stretching out in the "sun"...

His new house is a 20 gallon "long" aquarium with a new sunning dock and filter. He really loves the extra swim room!

I used to do tarantulas scorpions and poison arrow frogs
I had 54 species of tarantula 72 individuals
    4 species scorpion
and 2 species of frogs for the most part 2 at any time but 4 species altogether
and it all started from a single tank upgrade and it became quite the addiction

We had 2 red-ears.... got a little too messy.

Now I put in an 80 gal freshwater tank w/ various fish. The tank acts as a living, room divider between kitchen & dining room. And believe it or not, it stays cleaner longer than with the 2 turtles.

Outside, we have a desert tortoise in a nice den...

Have had bigger tanks in the past...just don't have the room. This tank fits perfectly on my kitchen divider.

Yeah, my 120 is a beast. At some point I need to break it down for a full cleaning. Its been 2.5 years. I'm not looking forward to that weekend long project.

    Thumbs up

Awwwwhhhhhh......Turtles always reminds me of fond memorizes of growing up. As a kid I always had red ears, mud, snapping, soft shell, and box turtles. They're great!

Thanks for the happy flashback Billy!!!!!

    Peace.

At some point I would like to keep a snapper again. They are my all time favorite reptile.

When I was younger I at one point had 15 box turtles in a large outdoor pen. That was until one of our German Sheps was not a fan of captivity and would relocate them to the woods next door.

I used to feed my Red Ear everything... pepperoni, hot dog niblets you name it. He was awesome.
