Yes Bart I LOVE that movie. Hoping that it comes to Blueray sooner or later. (sorry this somehow has gotten out of hand and become a BIG thread JACKING)

What were we discussing again?? (oh and I blame Scott)

EDIT: They made a second one apparently may need to give it a watch even tho I dont think it will have the same effect as the first oen did.

Lots of good music came out of the 80's but the only great music to come out of the 80's....real punk rock.

Sometimes I forget that U2 was a new band when I was in college.

Also new were the Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Blondie, Buzzcocks, The Ramones, The B-52s, Talking Heads to name a few off the top of my head. It was an exciting time in music...
95 Trooper with a buncha stuff nobody here cares about...

I must be a"little" to old, every band you guys mentioned was unlistenable to me. You guys must have had your TEEN hormones still raging!! HA!
The lyrics might have been good, but bashing your hand on an instrument is not playing music. ps the 80's was the start(Reagan era) of this whole corporate uncontrolled greed thing. small rant overHA!

I love old school punk, but its the bleeding edge into industrial/electro that I like the best.

My grandfather used to tell me the 80s were the start of all that NWO corporate greed stuff too. I'm sure it's true, but I still think culturally the 80s had the best stuff!

I remember going to the toy store when I was 12 and there was A WHOLE ISLE dedicated to toy guns that LOOKED TOTALLY REAL. None of this dayglow orange Nerf crap!!

I don't think Elvis Costello, The Pretenders, Blondie, The B-52s, or the Talking Heads qualify as "bashing your hand on an instrument"...although the Sex Pistols and Ramones do ...my tastes these days are much more eclectic, but I do occasionally like to bang my head and jump around.

Ok OK...I did like the Talking Heads. I like Elvis now...some
I like his show "Spectacle" on Sundance, although he tends to sing OVER his guests.

Yeah I usually do that in private

There are lots of band not mentioned...I had a Social Distortion album back in the day, but never got into them big time. Sonic Youth are another one...Siouxsie and the Banshees...lots more could be named, but we've highjacked this thread sufficiently I think.
