And I'm only 34 and I know that R.E.M. reference...except I am not a fan of R.E.M. Michael Stipe has a very annoying voice, IMO.

LOL, I guess it comes down to the voice. I can't stand Sting's voice. Don't ask me why, it just annoys me for some reason. Maybe they just sound a little too whiney to me, I dunno, can't put my finger on it.

I must be a"little" to old,every band you guys mentioned was unlistenable to me. You guys must have had your TEEN hormones still raging!! HA!
The lyrics might have been good,but bashing your hand on an instrument is not playing music. ps the 80's was the start(Reagan era) of this whole corporate uncontrolled greed thing. small rant overHA!
