I have a Clifford Matrixs RSX 3.5... sitting waiting for a running VX so I can install it! lol I was able to purchase it through work for $116! It is a keyless entry, security, remote start, two way paging system. Typical installation at my work is around $150... my system retails for $399 I think.

As for the problems with remote start system causing shifting problems... sounds like operator error. We do TONS of remote start systems in our bay and NEVER have a problem like that... If the system is installed correctly, and operated correctly, it is no different from hitting the key. A service bulletin is a dealers way of covering their buts on stuff that they can't explain... even if it ISN'T because of aftermarket equipment... typical of a service department!

I don't know if there are any differences between the 99-01 VX... but below are DEI Techsoft pages... showing wiring color, function, and locations. This is what we use when doing a remote start or security system at our store. Of course, IF you have no experience, it is recommended that you let a professional do the job... its not a tough job, but if you do it wrong, its not tough to screw things up either. Good luck!
