I say your muffler bearing went out. I had this happen to me not too long ago, fairly easy to replace, or it could just need greased.



Now I don't know if you have done it, but switching over to synthetic blinker fluid might be a good idea too, that has made my light come on before

The check engine light never came back on. I took the VX back to the inspection place. There was no problem with emissions, and the inspection pasted easily.
