There is a place in the Moab area known as "Area BFE" - that chunk of land was auctioned off a couple years ago. A school district wanted it I heard but so did some avid wheelers.... luckily they all got together quick enough to pounce on it and they won the auction! There are several great trails out there for us and while a few of the original buyers have sold to others, as long as that core group can afford to keep it we should all benefit. The Desert Rocks Festival has been held out there a few times and during the EJS they get some attention and donations. they also host the annual RC Crawling International Championships. If more land goes up for auction in that area it would be nice to get involved in a rally to purchase it.

uh you think you got it bad out west? in wi you cant even use a metal detector on any beach, any DNR (state land). Good luck finding any off road public areas here. Here we must abide by our income tax raisin, fee increasin', property tax raising, stupid regulatin' law passin', freedom squashing, gun rights snuffin, democrat governor. This is your new Country. Enjoy the Change.

That reminds me of one year at the EJS when we were watching the "Big Saturday" parade. These Mormon guys came up to us with signs - they were walking along the strip to grab attention. They said things had gone out of control and that too many people have started coming to Moab and claimed the EJS was wiping out species and overwhelming the landscape. After a few minutes of diatribe my dad looks at one of those guys and asks, "Do you have sex?!" The guy was dumbfounded. My dad went on to say, "Maybe if you people would stop popping out babies in abundance we wouldn't have this problem. Have you ever thought that maybe YOU are overwhelming the landscape?" My dad is a quiet guy until you press his buttons so it was really funny for me! Anyway, agreed, too many breeders...
