My whole thing is that I still just don't understand why you need all that to go camping. A tent, a sleeping bag, a nice big cooler or two, bed rolls, extra clothes, food, and some decent cooking stuff is all you really need to camp. Then you need some tools and survival gear for you and your rig, plenty of water and a weapon or two. With my Trooper, all that and I still have TONS of room. So what exactly do you need to trailer along with you out in the the middle of nowhere, besides a portable house? In which case, just stay home 'cause that ain't campin'!!!

True, but most RV owners never claim to be 'campers'. They 'travel' or go RV'n. Since Wifey & I are more in a tourista mode, the RV suits our needs. I don't rekin I'll ever get her to go 'primative'. Truth be told: I much prefer a hot shower than to break thru the ice for 'splash bath' (& we won't even discuss the issues associated with a privy).

I understand that I suppose. My wife doesn't "chit in the woods" either. I guess to me camping is "camping". A fire, a tent, some hot dogs (or Beddar Cheddars..mmmm), beer, friends and a sky full 'o' stars is what it's all about.

Taking along a camper with a TV and a bed and a shower and a toilet and all sorts of other stuff is just way too much. Not to mention, way to big and way to expensive. I just don't get it.

But then, you are talking to a person who HATES "campsites" as well. What's the point of getting away when you have hundreds of other people around you? That's not camping either, imo. That's just sleeping outside with a bunch of strangers.

To me, the 2 main goals of camping are:
    1) Being outside 100% of the time
    2) Getting as far away from other human beings as possible.

    The sub goals would be:
    3) Seeing things you have never seen before
    4) Hiking and exploring
    5) Observing and photographing animals and nature

I'll give you a perfect example. MOAB. When I go to Moab, I would MUCH rather stay in a hotel. The Portal is cool because there are lots of ZuZu friends there, and its cheaper than a hotel, but its not really a good place to camp, imo. Now, if I could wheel out into the back country and camp among the red rocks, now that would be something. And you can't do that in a "camper".

PS - I hate towing. I don't wanna tow ANYTHING EVER.

LOL, That is funny. I actually bought a PETT but she doesn't like that either. It has less to do with comfort and more to do with modesty. So its a battle not worth fightin'.
