Is that a homemade muffler on this VX?

Ok big question now - why has he got red coil tops ? i was under the impression that Hitachi - as in JDM VX's had red tops and all US versions had Black top coils nippon Denso - am i wrong ?

I've only ever seen non red coil packs (black, or maybe dark grey... ) on Troopers.
