Good God lol, that is indeed some hefty tires wow!!!
Hi MrMonk, seriously, if you want to know anything about tyre weights in the USA, send a PM to Riff Raff.
We don't always agree with his opinions, but his information is great.
Oh - don't mention I sent you - he just wouldn't answer then.

Lol. Thanks for the tip. He mailed me this morning with Tons of info. Very nice and helpful.
Nice rims. I just put some 19lb 18x8 on my stang myself.
Speaking of the pic I posted of the Grids I bought, Rota offers a Grid "Offroad" that is almost exactly the same, that comes in a 15 and 16" I believe. I looked into them a while back but wasnt too keen on the couple of finishes they offer. Great looking wheel and I would love to have the EXACT same size and finish on my VX that I have with my STi, heh.
I was on the topic of tires with some buddies last night and we got to talking about lightweight street tires. Something i did not know was that the lighter the tire, the more porous the rubber compound. This is great for traction at high temps, though it breaks down faster, but in cooler temps, the tires slowly lose air and can even take on and soak up water. Perhaps lighter isnt godo for ALL needs, heh. Anyways, unsure of the validity of that comment, but it was interesting nevertheless and seems to make sense. *shrug*
