Thread: Need new lift and have $1000 to spend

    so if i do the 912's and a 1 inch spacer, will i need to do the diff drop? i'm fairly decent with a welder and i'm sure i can find some plate steel to make the brackets but will i need them?

    NEED...not absolutely. Especially if you don't mind changing out CV boots a little more often.

    Keep in mind, every inch of diff drop you do, is an equal amount of ground clearance lost, which is the other reason (besides larger tires) for lifting in the first place...

    Also, if you drop your front diff, those kilby belly pans prolly won't fit...

    i think i'ma make my own skid plates when time comes, I have a lot of plate steel at work and i got a plasma cutter and welder at my place.

    previper----->ive had my VX with new springs and torsion bar crank (thats it on the lift) for almost 2 years and i have NO signs of wear on my boots...
