then you can have someone like me that runs 15's with 31's and gets lots of rock rash on their rims (the difference is im pretty heavy on the skinny pedal)

Save your money and use your stock OEM 18x7 wheels. Keep your VX stock height (no lift) and your CV's will be much happier. If you want maximum ground clearance with minimum installation issues, then go for tires in P275/65R18 (32" O.D.). This size tire will give you 1.25" increased ground clearance over stock.
I recently installed the General - Grabber AT2 in P275/65R18 (32" O.D./44 lbs) on my 100% OEM stock non-lifted VX (no aftermarket rear springs and no front torsion bar cranks). They are bolt-on perfect "IF" used with the stock OEM 18x7 rims which have the correct offset and backspacing you will want to maintain.
It is not necessary to have "off-road" tires on the smooth rocks at MOAB. If you sift through the many pictures of MOAB-VX's, you'll discover most had A/T version tires and some even used "street" tires with complete success. Buy your next set of tires with your everyday driving habits in mind, and have confidence they'll be MOAB worthy when the time comes.

Funny part is when I "clicked" on this thread topic I was counting the posts to see when Riff would chime in with his expertise..your slipping old man, you had 6 posts prior to your weather-beaten, age-old, horse-beaten-too-death, sermon. Why not just post a link back to one of the other 50 or so repetitions?
I call this piece "Excercise the Demons of Excessive (insert sin # here)"
1. C.V. Angle
1.A. Lifting
2. Rotational Unsprung Weight
3. After Market Wheels
3.A. Wheel Offset
(I'll edit this list as it grows.....sure to have more to include later.)
"Cast Out thy Sin of Excessive (#2) You Heathen......Satan, I command you to Leave this VX'ers Body And Go to Whence You Came...Never to Inflict Your Evil Influence of (#2) Upon God's Children. The Son of God Commands you to Renounce your Lust for (#2) and embrace the "General - Grabber AT2 in P275/65R18 (32" O.D./44 lbs)". Though I walk thru the Valley of Shadows I will not Fear (#2) as the Son of God will Show me the Way to the Promise Land of the "General - Grabber AT2 in P275/65R18 (32" O.D./44 lbs)".

Gosh all the responses. Thank ya everyone for your opinions. I'm probably gonna get the rodeo rims (they're free) and probably store them for future posibilities. Who knows maybe I'll get a 4x4 Rodeo to play with too.lol
"Tom, no damage in 5 years at moab means you're a good driver "
No, it means he's not trying hard enough. (I know - I haven't even been yet so I don't have ANY room to talk - save the sermon)
More rubber ... less metal. That's the only logical choice when it comes to 'wheelin.
