Yeah, from what lil googling I just did, it looks like the SRATS was aiming to be the SF vehicle, whereas the ELSORV would be the regular-Army outgrowth. It's really cool to see 4x expertise contributing over to real-world (ie non-recreational) applications. We have such an offroad braintrust here in the states that it's amazing that this is really the first time we're really utilizing it in this way.
All this 4x4 talk, though... While I'm ok with our 1151s, and would welcome this ELSORV (and wish all MRAPs could be scrapped for cash), I'd still rather have had my M1A2SEP. We can certainly discuss offroad capablity there...
