    i've put the manual wheel hubs on and disconnected the front end transmission and ****!!!! its still making the same griding noise No idea what it is.

    There's noises all over the place from slack in the drive train and i can't pinpoint one that might be causing this noise under power. It's got to be either the transpher case, gear box or rear propshaft i suppose ??

    How about checking the front wheel bearings...
    Forgive me if this was already mentioned, but with all the muddin' you do, it's a distinct possibility.

    James, even with the manual hubs on the drive shafts may well still be turning. Have you jacked the front up and laid under it whilst someone spins a wheel?
