Jo & Billy--- Your comments regarding neoprene WetOkole wetsuit material seat covers are perfectly correct for humans, but are highly incorrect for canines (for the exact reasons I pointed out in my previous posting). You guys totally aroused my curiousity regarding seat covers specifically designed for big dogs riding upfront in the passenger seat. Here's what I found out on the internet:

Best seat cover material for big dogs is a smooth microfiber/microvelvet 600 Denier Polyester/Ballistic Nylon (not neoprene). In every example I found on the internet, not one seat cover used neoprene wetsuit material for pets or dogs (again, for the exact reasons I pointed out in previous posting).

Further, I found many companies offer Rear Seat Dog Protectors; however, very few offered a Front Passenger Seat Dog Protector as specifically requested by NEWTHINGS (Roy) for his pet Boxer. After a lot of searching and reading different websites for Front Seat Dog Protectors, I came up with the following websites-- listed Best to Last:

    (1). www.DogCarSeatCover.net
    (2). www.OhMyDogSupplies.com
    (3). www.Orvis.com
    (4). www.AutoSportCatalog.com
    (5). www.Cabelas.com

Roy, I see you live in Seaside, Oregon. I've previously visited the Casino in your town, and know it is right on the ocean beach where you probably let your Boxer romp and play in the muddy beach sand. Then your excited Boxer wants to totally wreck havic in the Recaro front passenger seat of your VX with his sharp claws and muddy paws.

Definately take a peek at websites #1 & #2 above, as they offer the very best choices for big dogs like your Boxer who ride as a Front Seat Passenger. They even have "Side Curtain Door Shields" to protect the plastic carbon-fiber door panels of your VX from getting claw scratched, as I'm sure your Boxer likes to poke his head out the window while cruising down the road. I tried the sheepskin seatcovers from CostCo in the past. They hold up well but they smell like 'wet dog' even when the dog ain't there.

Riff Raff...wow , ya did some DD!

But ,if you look at the Wet Okole covers you'll see that they are...

"neoprene - laminated with nylon on both sides"...just as you recommend.

We are not talking basic wet suit neoprene finish.

I'm sure the others are good..though multiple user ratings on "Cabelas" own site,
point to Wet Okole being the favorite user choice , both for fit and "dog" friendly use.

I can only speak from experience with Wet Okole covers....

...and the micro fiber nylon that covers the actual neoprene has proven to be virtually indistructable.

In 4 plus years of use....only a single ciggy burn!

I actually have 2 sets, one set in my 07 Expedition, and a set in my 06 Explorer. They are worth every penny, for pets or kids!!!!!!!! They fit better than the factory slipovers in my opinion. But at 500ish for front/rear set, you gotta want em. No problems with dog smell, as long as you treat the covers. They have an enzyme spray, it actually works. My dingo goes to the beach and he rides on the covers with no problems, sand, mud, hair, ketchup, honey mustard...I have a three year old and a two year old, I will never have a family vehicle without the wet okoles again...

I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them.
