I've found too that a lot of the original docs for title, etc don't always follow the vehicle once it passes from it's original intended country elsewhere.

Not sure about JDM, but if your climate control is automatic,ie pick a temp and forget, then its an 01, if not, its pre-01.

Re the climate controls, mine is not set and forget and going on other imformation it appears i have a 1999 vx, plated 2001 for the Australia market.

I found a sticker on top of the little plastic cubby hole that says something like 26 1 98, and my car is a 1998 so maybe thats when it was made.

x is a 1999
y is a 2000
1 is a 2001
