Any more info on this build? I am also interested in doing…the exact same thing. Will they fit with a 912 or OME build?

I just put those same wheels in 16" on my 91 Trooper. Be aware they have a pretty positive offset. Originally, I put 265/75s on the Trooper and I had rubbing on the frame at full lock. I took off the 265/75s (will be putting them on the VX) and put some 235/85s on the Trooper and I get no rubbing now.

They look classic and nice I think.

Yep that's the kind of look I was going for with these aluminum wheels...

Cooper Zeon LTZ 285-60-18 (31.5" diameter)
KMC Enduro Wheels 18x9 zero offset (I think)
Stock ride height etc. Front bumper needed a good trim and the front wheel liner needed a good trim in back and a BFH pounding but it was easy and looks fine.

I was changing my wheels over from winter (31's) to summer (33's) and happened to have a stock size tire too. So I posted these pictures in case some of you are interested in a side by side comparison.
    These are stock for a '99 245/70r16 then Gen Grabbers AT2 265/70r16 and GoodYear MT/R 33/12.5r15

    New Tires

After nearly a year of trying to decide which wheel/tire combo to go with, I settled on keeping the stock rims with Nitto Terra Grappler 285/60-18. For anyone else on the fence, this is by far the best thing I have done for my VX.

    I'm in trouble!!!

My tires won't make the trip, so I need a new set before SUNDAY!!!

I want to keep the stock rims, I drive like my VX is a sports car and I NEVER EVER take it off road. I would like to have something that looks "cool" to match everything else but at this point, Im not sure what will happen.

I'm still coming to Moab, but I really need help!!!

Can someone point me in the direction of a cool looking tire, something that will look right but that can hug corners???

    PLEASE HELP!!

I'm going to re-post this message again on the Moab thread just in case everyone doesn't read this one.

I really really appreciate any help!!

I've run Kumho Ecsta STX tires for many years, and think they handle great in all weather. They fit the stock rims without any lift or trimming, and look good. A little wider than stock, but not too wide for the rims (like 285 series.) In stock at Tirerack.com.

I'd been looking for a Volk TE-37 type wheel for offroad and I found these wheels on the Tacoma World forum. They are 18x9 zero offset 108mm hub FN Wheels BFD.

I had them powdercoated Lollypop Red over Super Chrome and had the brush bar done to match. The top red coat is transparent so they really have a lot of depth to the shine.

The tires are 285/65R18 Nitto Terragrapplers. Since they are zero offset they rubbed a lot. I had to do about 8 turns on the torsion bars, trim the front cladding and also unbolt the bracket in the back of the front wheel well and drill a new hole further back to pull the plastic back.

The cladding has one coat of Showroom New black dye applied with the foam roller, really happy with how it turned out.

NICE.. ( glad ya figured out the pic posting )

    Maybe a tad nose high?

    If you feel same..
... OME springs in back would help offset the
Torsion bar crank "lift" up front.

    Good looking VX

    went up to some 20"

Ive had these 20" wheels and Falken tires sitting in my showroom
ready to put on my VX now for a yr and today decided to put them
on and see how I like them.
(my 17" worx are still ready to go back on if I decide I dont like these.)
but these are growing on me fast, but the 17" have a lot of positives too.
