    0122 Code

    Merry Christmas to all,
On Christmas Eve I got a check engine light and the code was 0122, Throttle Position Sensor Low. The driving symptom was hard shift from 2 to 3 and sometimes in gear idle up at 2500 rpm. It has been cold in the 20 and 30's here for the past week. I cleared the code and the problem came back after a few hours. I order a new TPS from Merlin for $60. !! I later found after market ran from 17 to 33 dollars. Our parts are getting expensive.
The TPS is held on by 3 Torx bolts and has one three prong electrical plug. Does anyone know any problems, tricks or troubles, in swapping out the part?
    Thanks, Roy

No problems or tricks... You should try cleaning it first... VERY easy to clean... I did mine almost 2 months ago (just cleaned it with carb/choke cleaner sensor safe) and my VX has never run better since I've had it. Clean it and see if that works then see if you can cancel the order... save $60!! When you take it off it'll be fileed with a carbon(y) material... just needs cleaning.
We sit together, my VX and I, until only the VX remains.

Check and clean the wire connection, check the throttle shaft for binding, and check and adjust the throttle cable if needed.
