Probably because if an American reporter ever did that, then he/she would go to prison for a very long, long, time. Assault on a sitting U.S. President is no joke, and I'm sure the penalties are both swift and severe. It would kinda' be like the Roach Motel-- "You check-in; but, you don't check-out!"
