Yes, the Kumho M/T KL-71 is a very cool looking "directional" M/T tire in LT265/75R16 (31.9" O.D./56 lbs). However, it is also extremely "heavy" at 56 lbs each. The OEM tires on a 1999 VX weighed only 33 lbs each, so you'd be adding 23 lbs of extra "unsprung weight" to each tire or a total of 92 lbs of extra weight for a set of 4 (23 x 4 = 92). This added unsprung weight is what dramatically affects VX launch, MPG, and braking distance in a very negative way.
Please reconsider an alternate "directional" M/T tire with the YOKOHAMA - GEOLANDAR M/T+ in LT265/75R16 (31.9" O.D./47 lbs) which is also very radical looking but weighs only 47 lbs each and is only 14 lbs over OEM (33 lbs) stock. Thus, you'd be adding only 56 lbs of total unsprung weight for a set of 4 tires. By keeping overall unsprung weight to a bare minimum will help maintain the VX's launch, offer the very best MPG for a M/T tire, and will greatly help keep braking distance to a minimum. I hope this helps in your decision process for a directional M/T tire.
