Not sure what ever happened to the one I handed over to the DARPA guys. Hope they got some use out of it.

I did one years ago in StudioMax but never went back to actually make it compatible for some racing game mod use. I still have the files but no longer have a copy of Max for home use. Talk though work about getting home licenses and if that happens, consider it DONE. I REALLY want to be able to put a VX into Dirt2.

That is cool, Richard. So, you obviously have the VX diagram from the Japanese brochure imported, and then what do you do? Do you just lay a wire frame over it and then move the vectors around to get the right 3 dimensional angles?

It would be really awesome if we could get a full 3-d model of the VX made that we could use for part identification. Like, when someone asks where the fill port on the tranny is, we could just refer to a number and run a little program that shows the 3D VX and where everything is located.

    That would be sweet.

Of course, getting a VX into a video game would be even better. I so desperately wanted my VX in MotorStorm!

PS - Can you make a VX in Little Big Planet? That would be reason enough to buy the game!

That’d be cool if you could post a copy of that model. You can download Zmodeler2 for free and it has the ability to export to 3ds and multiple game formats.

The sky the limit! Yeah, I used the blueprint method by placing the vectors over the blueprint then moving them to the correct location. I haven’t seen a plugin for LBP yet.

Cars designed by spreadsheets make sense. Cars designed by engineers make history.

Better yet you could create a topless VX and objectively test its structural stability.

Ok, 4hrs later this is what I have so far. I’m trying to keep the polygon count down for better game performance.

Thanks! Yeah I have a lot more to do before I get to that point. I have the model setup so you can change the color with a slide of a color bar. I’m going to make it completely stock at first then add mods and accessories that can be toggled on and off then exported.
