I had a snorkel on a Land Rover and it provided a ram-air of cleaner and cooler air. On that LR, and another V8 hybrid I owned, it was recommended to run a standard/disposable air filter, and change it out religiously every 4 months, or so. A regular filter box was recommended, as well, so the larger particles and bugs can settle in the bottom. Those are easily vacuumed out at filter changes. I would say that an addition of a snorkel would add 5 hp to a factory airbox'ed VX.
The most important fit issue is going to be the body line of the windshield pitch and flange area where it enters the fender; after that, it is just a matter of plumbing to get it to the airbox or otherwise.
