Wow, nice one. I would suggest making sure all of the trans cooler lines are not leaking and even suggest putting two screw clamps on each fitting just to make sure you do not loose fluid from that area after you fix the tranny up. Are you going to try and rebuild it, or find a donor trans?
First thing is to diagnose just what the tranny problem is...
(Seems to go in reverse fine...but revs in fwd and moves real slow...
...sort of like a major clutch slip thang from my Mini Cooper days of yore!)
Once diagnosed...... decide on a rebuild or a re manufactured swap.
The worst case scenario...
...the price was OK for simply parting it out , and keeping a LOAD of spare panels/parts/cladding etc , etc , etc for the ORW.
Having said that...parting out is the very LAST option...I wanna fix it for the wife to wheel....
