I went with Bilstein shocks and I'm very happy with them... Wish my vehicle would have come with OE shocks (when I purchased it) I've only got 50K miles and my Ranchos needed replacing, so Makes me wonder how mint the stock ones would have been.

Torsion bars may also wear out... (?)

Since you've got a 2001, if you switch to a 99's 16" wheel/tire combo it'll give you a nicer ride too.
