strange coincidence...I got a check engine light today for the first time concerning the EGR...code #0402 (EGR Excessive Flow Detected). I monkeyed with plugging & unplugging the EGR plug. I tried repeatedly to clear it with my code reader but wasn't not able to clear it until I started the VX (your supposed to clear it with the engine not running...key turned to position before engaging starter with idiot lights on.) Drove it for about a 1/2 hr with no codes. 
I guess maybe a good EGR cleaning is in order! If that doesn't fix it your list may come in handy!!
