I was thinking last night, and I just want to make sure that everyone on the list here knows that this trip may turn out to be several nights of REAL CAMPING.
At minimum, that means:
1) No showers
2) No toilets
3) No water
4) No gas stations for miles
If we camp on BLM land Friday night, and then go south Saturday to the Ruby Mountains area, there may be "Campsites" there. I have not researched it fully, but I will get on that now.
I just want everyone to be prepared. I will be bringing 10 gallons of extra gas, and probably 10-15 gallons of water. Personally, I love being detached from civilization for as long as possible, but I will have the wife with me so I will probably be procuring some sort of camp shower so we can rinse off. I also have a portable crapper now that works pretty good, which is something you guys can consider getting. Or, if you want to use mine, just bring 2-3 WAG BAGs for each day of camping, depending on how much you poop:
REI carries them or you can get them online. Or you can just go the old fashion way.
Has anyone ever been to the Ruby Mountains area? I hear it is really beautiful, but I honestly have no idea what to expect. I'll post more info about the area as I find out.
