    Arrow Here ya go Richie...pics

Here are the inner & outer tie rod ends on my left front...yeah, I know pretty grungy down there...
Check out the thickness of the washers, maybe you need thicker washers, or two thinner ones?

And don't worry about being a PITA asking questions...I was a PITA for someone else, I'm just paying back (forward) the favor...no worries.

Also, since you asked me to take pics, I was crawlin' around under there & found I had TWO torn CV boots on the R/F. Must have just happened, because there isn't grease flung all over the place, like if it had been driven any distance.
So Thanks Dude, I owe ya one....

    Thanks Larry!!

It was washers... I double booted, and used thick washers like yours... Now all is well...

Back to the alignment shop! 3rd times a charm... Atleast the dudes at this firestone are really cool! They were the ones that figured out Something was up with my tie rods. They aligned it twice, found out the tie rods had play, and they're ready for the 3rd time.

    ------

2 Torn CV boots... take lots of pictures of your install... I know there are other tutorials but I just need a lot of pictures... I'm a visual person...

I have a feeling I'll need new boots soon, or that I should put the indy4X boots on just in case.

Glad my retardation could help you out

    Awesome thanks!

Maybe you could change the title of the thread to : HD Tie Rod pics... So those who search in the future will find them, Larry.

    Thanks to both of you!

The main issue was I didn't tighten the castle nut very far because I was afraid of compressing the boot as much as you're "supposed" to.

I think I'm set now though.

Don't hold your breath on the pics...I'll be alone, up to my elbows in grease, & working against a weather imposed deadline...Oh, and did I mention I'm far too impatient to stop at every step to clean up & take pics???
Besides, Billy's (Triathlete) tutorial was beauty eh. ( sorry, just watched "Strange Brew")

Don't sweat the boots...when they go, they go.
Mine lasted two years after I lifted...it's a crapshoot.

Best insurance is to have a full set of mec-a-tecs + the install kit, in inventory & ready to go.

It also doesn't hurt to have an employer that'll give you the day off at the tear of a boot...er, drop of a hat.

no worries I'm the same.. No pics while dirty.

I've got the job... Now I need the boots.

Best of luck on the install. I'm not looking forward to that day

Thanks Tom, Haven't received it ... hmmm...

I can receive up to a 3GB file (it'll take awhile but I can handle it)

So I doubt you overloaded me
