Yep, LDub is correct. Tube and depending on space maybe a spot for a winch.

Damn Billy! Your VX is going to be a lean, mean, wheeling machine! That's awesome you still have a nice piece of front cladding for when your VX needs to go to weddings and other formal occasions. I can't wait to see the end result!

What's wrong with a beastly looking VX at a wedding? Who says right afterwards he's not gonna be hittin the trails?![]()
Lol I really wish I could get my VX looking beasty and mean by my wedding to roll off in, but with only 2 months to go it ain't gonna happen.

While I'm at it then i better make a sweet roof rack with a tent something cuz i definitely wouldn't have a place to sleep. So maybe not. lol
From the looks of the pictures are you thinking of rounding off the edges of the cladding? I am thinking of a nice gentle sweeping angle from the wheel weel to the blinker. Right now the 90 degree angle cut in the cladding looks definitely cut and I don't think it fits the feel of the VX right now. If you are going to have a lot of hard angles and straight lines in the bumper than I could see it coming together nicely in the end, but just a thought. I think I would round the edge, but once you cut you can never go back. What were your thoughts?
Maybe like this:

I left mine straight for now because I think it will work with the bumper better. Once the bumper is done there may be some additional trimming.
I have found that with the bottom of the cladding cut the VX runs a bit cooler.I am assuming it is allowing more air flow to the radiator from the bottom. The cladding actually blocks a lot of air from the bottom since it has a big foam block in there that keeps air from flowing from the bottom when in its stock form.
