    Billy,

Following this with great interest, I like the direction you're going.

Could you please take some pics from further away to show more of the overall appearance?

    Thanks

Will do tomorrow...it was dark so the in-garage pics were the best I could do for now.

Very nice! Is the bumper going to be mainly under the cladding then? I'm still hazy as to precisely what your going for but am very interested nonetheless (is that supposed to be one word?) Anywho very nice and i look forward to seeing the completed project! What are you gonna do about the little bumper tube things that are now exposed?

Awesome! Wish I had a spare bumper to mess with Great forward clearance.

Knivx, I believe he's going to put a bumper similar to this

Below the cladding as it sits now.

    ....

So it would seem that all the clearance gained by trimming is going to be lost to a bumper? I could see like a simple bar like a rock slider for the front but maybe i'm still not looking fourth dimensionally or something. Either way can't wait to see it!

I had them hosted on AOL...but they are no longer going to host pics. I didn't think it was until the end of the year though?
But fret not...there shall be some updated pics momentarily!

    Wait no more!
A quick recap of phase 1 (since I know my pics from then aren't working)...
    Trimmed a bit of cladding...

    The finished product...

Next it was a trip up the road to Oracle, Az. home of Stric9 Engineering...
    Prepping the frame...

The sliders sitting on the bench...

    Beefie frame mounts...

    Welding...

Welded and ready to bash on...

    Gussets reinforcing the back...

    Priming for paint...

    Painted a nice flat black...

    Phase 2 complete!

We threw around a couple ideas for phase 3 (front and rear bumpers) and we think we came up with something that will be very sweet indeed! Bumpers will be tube rock bumpers with corner protection and a small stinger in front and will follow the lines of the VX nicely!
Remember all will have jigs made so if anyone else is interested they will be available!
