If you guys are still working on Sunday afternoon, I might stop by since we often get out early on Sundays. I need to do the trans and the CVs.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable man persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on me.
The twin lakes campsite access is no problem for a regular vehicle.

I have a Sith sense....I see Darth people...
Greetings!
Have some info on the Twin Lakes campsite.
I scouted around today, and talked to one of the camp hosts that has been there for a few seasons.
I looks like I will be able to score a few of the 1st come sites without much issue. I may have to go up a day or two before the weekend and claim the sites (pitch tents, pay for) but it should secure us the best ones. I think it's worth it tp pay a little extra to make sure we are where we want to be.
I have in mind spots A1 - A4 on the upper right of this map:

They are farthest away from the masses, are close to a bathroom, and right next to the lake & a boat launch! Fishing is supposed to be pretty good here also, so bring yur gear if that's your gig.
Each spot is $19 bucks a day, with a total of 6 persons allowed at each site. Exta vehicles per site are $4 bucks. So depending on the total number of folks coming, how many tents we want to put on each, we may only need 2 spots.
Let me know what you all think.
Best,
James, that sounds awesome. Linda and I are totally there, and possibly two more. I will know for sure how many of us will be there by Monday.
So, definitely count me in for however many spots, and I will bring cash for whatever I owe when I get there.
Thanks a lot for doing this. I can't wait.
Bart
My friend Sara and her boyfriend might come with us if thats cool?
^
No objection here!
Best,
Ok, well, that sucks, but there will still be three of us, which is pretty sweet.
Beau, are you still planning on coming down Friday morning? We will probably still go down on Thursday night...unless you want us to wait.
Bart
Yeah, friday morning, if you feel like waiting great, if not it's no biggie. I just need an address for the gps. You still bringing your boat? I'm kinda on the fence on mine because it seems like a lot of hassle for something only one person can enjoy.
OK, I talked to Linda, and she said she would rather leave Friday morning also.
My brother also dropped out. So, it looks like Me and Linda, and Beau and Megan are still going. Linda said she would rather leave early on Friday morning, I am thinking on the road by 6am, which should get us there by 9:30.
James, are you planning to grab the sites on Wednesday or Thursday? I think 2 sites will be plenty for us, and we can split up the cost of the campsites once there.
Questions for James:
1) Do we need to bring firewood or is it readily available there?
2) I forget, does this campground have showers and toilets? Or just toilets?
3) How bad are the gas prices down there?
4) Any restrictions on dogs? We will have the chihuahua with us.
5) Is Mammoth Lakes in Mono or Tuolumne county?
I just looked at the weather, and it looks outstanding for the weekend. I can't wait!!!
Thanks! Bart
Greetings!
Looks like we will only need one spot, since we will have just three tents. That will help save some dough. I will be getting it on Thursday, a day early. It is spot 47C, marked A3 on the map I supplied earlier.
I will take care of the firewood.
Toilets only. Feel free to shower @ my pad, a few miles away.
Gas is aound 4.75 to probably hit 5 for the holiday weekend.
Dogs OK.
Mono County.
I will have at least one spare queen air mattress.
Best,
