appears we have our answer now
but I agree with other posters, it's not like too many people will be trying to prove it correct or not
Hi guys thanks for the interesting results i think it just goes to show how much you all care for the VX to not be racing it
however in the uk we have a Frontera and Trooper V6 with the same engine and ecu - not limited with a top speed so the idea it there , but i do heed the words of warning and i agree the TOD maynot be up to the job but then again being a JDM i have a 2wd position on the Range change
i may well do a remake of the video using a ferrari or similar
Cheers
Steve
I don't have ECU management that kicks in and kills my accel. Traffic does a good job of that around here, so, top speed of about.... 30.![]()

Days ago i raced agains a audi Quattro V-6 here in long island,NY i make it up to 115 & had no problem.
The audi didn't stand a chance,i had to flash my lights to have the audi out of my way![]()
I've hit the limiter several times - speedo usually reads 116-118 but I haven't checked it against actual (GPS positioner). From what I've read and remember from past discussions, it's not the drivetrain that's forcing the limiter, it's actually the tire requirement - Isuzu wanted to market the VX using cheaper ST tires instead of going to V-rated or other with stiffer sidewalls, so they limited via ECU to keep the rating. At some point one would hit the physical/mechanical limits for the tranny and TOD anyway so it's probably a moot point.

I have taken the VX upto the limiter and its just off the clocks which is 115 mph so i recon its a max vehicle limit - it just cannot go faster
cheers
