Jo, if you are up for leaving a "little" earlier you could swing on over to Tucson. I am leaving Sat morning, going up through Globe, Show Low, swinging through the Petrified Forest to do some site seeing, then will probably camp at Canyon de Chelly. Sunday morning look around Canyon de Chelly and then head up to Moab arriving Sunday afternoon. Mon morning is Mt Bike day!

Jo,
Actually, I won't be in Moab until Monday also.
After doing the Four Corners trourist thing, we are going to The Cidadel. This will be the complete opposit of the tourist thing. It's going to be cool. It's an 1000 year old Indian dwelling in the middle of nowhere. It's called the Citadel because it's like a fort. It's very easy do defend with a small number of people..........It will be incredible. The pictures will be awsome. Should be finished arouns 5 or 6 p.m. Camp....get up Monday morning do a little 4x4ing check out some more ruins I know of........leave the ruins around noon........should be in Moab a couple of hours later.
If you are interested I have the itinerary somewhere, I can send it to you if you like.
Peace.

Hi Tom
Sounds like a nice "extra" to the whole trip....though I wasnt planning on carrying camping gear...
How many are meeting at 4 corners , or driving through that way?
jo
I cant wait to see your rig in person Jo
Jo, right now it's me (tomdietrying), Scott Harness (Scott Harness ), and Rob (Dumke). That's the Dallas/Ft.Worth Crew. I haven't heard from they guys in Houston or Austin.
It's just a tent you need. We will probably be camping near Natural Bridges National Monument. If camping is not your gig, you can alway get a room in Bluff or Blanding.
IMO - Utah is a great place to experience the outdoors at night. You will NOT believe what the Milky Way looks in Utah.
Here is the itinerary from Dallas: This is Central Time
1. Scott meets me at my house at 5:00 a.m. Saturday morning and leave
2. Meet you and Ray in Decatur at 6:00 a.m.
3. Get to Alberquerqe at 4:00 p.m.
4. Jemez Springs at 5:15 p.m.
5. Find a camping spot.
6. Leave @ 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning
7. Go to Four Courners at High Noon
8. Get to Citedal Indian Ruin Trailhead at 2:00
9. Leave by 6:00 to find a camping spot
10.Leave at 8:00 a.m. Moday morning
11.Do a light 4x4 Trail and go to Tower House Ruins (near where we will have
camped)
12.Leave by 12:00 noon
13.Get to Moab by 2:00 p.m.
Peace.
