ok... sorry.. i have a lever.. 2wd... tod... and 4wd lo....its a japanese vx.. so i have a manual lever for putting it into TOD or 4WD lo... normal driving is rear 2wd
what i want to know... is can i put it into TOD while the car is in motion.. if so.. at what speed is the limit?

Interesting.... in the US we only have two choices on the lever! It's either TOD or 4WD-lo. You're owners manual must say what the limit is. Let us know!

Castigan, our US VX's are different in that we have only 4-Hi and 4-Lo to shift between. Our manual is quite strict and explicit - only shift while completely stopped and with transmission in neutral.

yes. ive noticed i can apply TOD while moving... and ive never done this except at very low speeds... i was just wondering what would be the maximum speed it could be engaged at... intresting that yours are always in TOD.... bet i get better gas milage with rear 2wd only engaged !!

I bet you do, too. Pardon my JDM model ignorance, but do you have the 3.2L motor or the 3.5L?

yes we have 3.2l engine.....
