Why?..... because stock sucks.
Thanks everyone for the invitation to tag along.
According to MapQuest it should take me about 8 hrs. to be in Chicago. I'm planning on leaving no later than 6 a.m.EST Saturday (10th) and should be in Chicago by around say 2p.m. (not taking into consideration the timezone diff of 1 hour.)

I'm a team-player...whatever benefits the convoy in making good time...count me in!

Hey, all,
Unfortunately, my friend has an urgent matter to address on Saturday night, so I cannot take off from Chicago at 14-00 with you. However, I would really love to go together, so we plan to take off very early on Sunday, between 4 and 5 a.m., and drive non-stop in effort to catch up with you guys (we will be taking turns so fatigue is not an issue)... Gill, can we maybe work out a time and place where we could catch up with the rest of the convoy on Sunday (echoing the Orion's question)?
Thanks

Orion,
Looks like we will be stopping in Omaha, NE on Saturday night depending on how long Greg (Jolly Roger VXer) wants to stay on the road. We'd love to meet up with you on Sunday for the drive into Denver. I am PMing you my cell # so we can get in touch.
The Chi-Town convoy will be staying in the Denver area on Sunday evening. I have cousins out there that I see every time I make this trip, and Cece is meeting up with an old friend. Cece & pbkid are working on where to meet Monday morning for the big convoy into Moab... looks like it's going to be here ~> I-70 exit 259 Morrison at 7 am on the 12th.
I don't know how many VX's are getting together at this location, but it's going to be AWESOME!
Gil (or anyone else in the Chi-town convoy), you guys will be "picking" me up on Monday around mid-day in Glenwood Springs (it's about three to three and a half hours from Denver) at exit 116. If you guys leave Denver around 8am it should put you in my neck of the woods around lunch. Give me a call as you guys get close to Glenwood and I will make sure that I am there to greet you.
Can't wait to see everyone again/ meet some people for the first time.

hey mark, we should be leaving denver around 8am...so send me your phone number and i will give you a call once we come into glenwood canyon
do you have any type of CB on your rig yet?? might be easier to get reception on a CB in the canyon than on a cell phone....
OK, here's the route Jim & I will be taking to & from Moab. A little longer for sure, but avoids Denver traffic, which is important for Jim...& me too.![]()
