So the width of your canoe is ok but its really long?
Just make sure you use ratchet straps, 2 up front, 1-2 over the middle and 1-2 for the rear. It is a little scary the first time you hit 50mph with one up top, but if you are strapped down right, you will be ok. I got some of those pads from Sportsman's also, they help a lot.

The width is just on the line so if I run a strap around it to the rack and snug it down it should be cool.
I need to buy more straps, I could only find three and one is torn. I like the smaller ones like I have, plus they are red like my boat.
Finally painted my cladding. I did it with the Bumper coating. Anything that was plastic pretty much got painted. I put new life into the cladding and the insert for sure. I even did the roof rails and spoiler.

I've seen it first hand and it looks hella good.

Time well spent...
Looks Great...![]()
thanks guys. Yeah it took some time but it was worth it. I was really inpressed how well it turned out considering I used spray cans.
I've been looking at doing the same thing. Something that makes the cladding need a little less care. In a year post pictures and if it still looks that good, I'm in.
Did run across a local product that is GREAT for breaking the oxidation that sets up on the cladding after a few weeks. (No, I don't get to care for her like I should.) $30.00/gal, has silicon in it, smells heady (you could kill brain cells if you were already stupid) and I am not sure I'd smoke while appliying it. But it makes "Back to Black" go on in one coat and makes it stay black much longer. Will post pix of the aftermath next time I get a chance to detail the V.
