K&N filters. When I drop the Mobil1 after 3000...it looks like maple syrup. Nice and clean. In the Lightning truck as well...80000 mi. and same deal, still changes out clean.

I at the time of the first oil change they told me that I had run a quart and a half out of it. I have now put two quarts into it between changes, so I have to start looking into some solutions.
I want to start the synthetic, I don't know if that is an option where I take it now, but if not, I'll have to change places. Will that help the burning issue? I am going to go back into the arch's and see what has been said before, I know it's been covered, and see what that does for me.
For me, my oil endeavor begins.

I like the Mobil-1 filter because it's fully synthetic and doesn't have any paper or cotton-gin inside, and not specifically because it's branded by Mobil-1 but that it's less expensive and easier to get than the equivalent fully-synthetic Wix filter. Here's an interesting site where someone takes a fairly objective view of a wide variety of filter brands by disassembling many popular brands and determining who makes what for whom: http://people.msoe.edu/~yoderw/oilfi...lterstudy.html
For my diesel tractors, military and commercial trucks I pretty much use Wix or NAPA, and sometimes Caterpillar for my Caterpillar dozers. The Mercedes diesels always get Wix synthetic on both the oil and fuel filters.
