Okay.. now I am even more impressed with AMSoil. I sent an email yesterday afternoon and got a reply today. Straight to the point, no miracle oil sales pitch.

All of our lubricants are group 4 base stock except our XL7500 series, which are group 3.

AMSOIL Series 2000 Synthetic 0W30 Motor Oil (TSO) is our premium top of the line gasoline engine oil. It is the most fuel efficient product and also has a 10,000 mile longer service life than our AMSOIL Synthetic 5W30 Motor Oil (ASL). The 0W viscosity ensures the quickest lubrication to critical engine components, and definitely is the best for cold weather starting.

What is the base stock you use in your products? Group III or Group IV? What's the difference between the 2000 series and the regular SAE line? I've looked at the web site and the product labels at the store. Neither provide a definitive answer on the matter. In fact, they pretty much say the same things. So why pay the extra cost?
